Evaluation for advert

I think my advert turned out really good and exactly how I wanted. I was aiming for it to look cheesy and over the top and I think I achieved that goal. My two actors I had played it really well and over the top which is what I wanted.

I think I planned everything really well and had my paperwork done on time and to a good standard. However I found it hard to get actors as people who had said would be in my advert let me down. I think that was a good learning curve because now I know that you can not rely on other people and should always have a back up. I’m very pleased with the people I finally managed to get to be in my video as I think they gave 100% effort to my advert.

I was able to film on a piece of grass with a tree so I think it looked like the actors were really exercising and made it look authentic.

When I first edited I had my advert at about 3 minutes I then realised that adverts are normally about 30 seconds. So I cut out loads of clips that were dragging the advert along and making it go a bit slow.

Two people watched my video and this is what they had to say:

Nick Longhurst “I thought it was hilarious and I was very impressed how quick it was put together and how good it looked in the end.”

Rebecca Wallace “It is really good, it all fits together well and it is very funny”

Having done all the paperwork and research on adverts I felt really confident in doing my advert and that it would look how I wanted and still fit to the sports drink genre.

To get equipment I had to ask Nicola to get a tripod and camera and then to get my actors i just asked people in my class if they would do it and they said yes so it was easy to get my equipment and my location.

On the 7th of July I edited my advert, at first I edited it to be 3 minutes long but then i realised it was too long for an advert. So I decided to take out the first bits of Becca and Nick doing stretches and exercises so it was 38 seconds long. the editing went really good and I'm pleased with the out come. The advert came out really overplayed and corny which is what i wanted as it taking the mick out of sport drink adverts.
On the 7th of July I managed to film my Advert, I had planned to film a unhealthy boy trying to exercise and then he drinks Lucozade and enters a race and wins. However I only had limited time and could only get two actors so i changed my story a little bit. Becca Wallace was a fitness trainer and she was trying to help Nick Longhurst to get fit. But he was really bad and so Becca says that he should drink Lucozade and after he dose he runs really fast and it fit and healthy. I filmed it on college grounds on a green area with a tree. I think it whent really good and i got everything i needed. Nick and Becca did a really good job and really whent for it and made it really cheesy which is what I wanted.

After we came back from half term on 23rd I finished my paperwork and was ready to start filming my advert.
On the 5th of June I started doing my paperwork that was needed and seeing who would be in my advert and what props I would need. I also decided that i would film in a park, either memorial gardens or Tilgate park.
On the 2nd of June I started my storyboard. I decided to make my advert very cheesy and taking the mick out of adverts, so everything is exaggerated. For example when the unhealthy boy decides to drink Lucozade it flys in out of thin air instead of him getting it out of his bag or buying it. On my first storyboard i had the unhealthy boy trying to play football but i thought that it would be much harded and complicated to film as i would need quite alot of people and a football pitch. So i started again and had the unhealthy boy trying to exercise by running.

Looking at my initial ideas i have realised that doing a trailer would be confusing to do. It might also turn out tacky. So I have desided to do my advert on a sports drink as i think there are many different ideas i could use.
